2nd Hand First Photoshoot

I wore this outfit a week ago for a photo shoot that one of my favorite blogging friends put together. Sydney is the blogger behind Chic Stripes and features all things second hand in Richmond. Her blog is fantastic and she has lots of great ideas so when she approached me to be apart of her "2nd Hand First" photo shoot I was ecstatic!! My job was to put together an outfit consisting of all second hand items. It was so fun to pull out all my 2nd hand pieces and see how many there were and how many awesome designer pieces I have scored over the years. I wanted to go with a really chic and edgy look so I paired my new Stella McCartney tee with this black pencil skirt, strappy brown sandals and gold jewelry. The shoot was held at Urban Farmhouse, in Shockoe Bottom and featured some other RVA bloggers so be on the lookout for the full shoot in the October/November issue of Grid Magazine!!

On a bit of a sad note these photos are the last time you will be seeing this purse because 2 days after this when I was walking home from work in Carytown I was mugged. I had just gone to the ATM and was talking on the phone while walking home when all of a sudden I felt my purse being pulled away from me. I chased the idiot for a block but lost him along with my purse, wallet, keys, makeup, etc. So if you live in Richmond the moral of the story is don't get too comfortable. It may feel like a tiny little town at times but this is still a city and anything can happen.

**Side note: I am totally fine, I just want people to know that this doesn't just happen in NYC, it can happen in broad daylight on a busy street anywhere so be careful and aware of your surroundings at all times people

New 'Do

I got a haircut* this past weekend and I am totally obsessed with it. Even though I loved my super long hair that I used to have I am definitely a short hair girl. I feel so much sexier and edgier with my new cut which is exactly the look I am going for with my outfits this fall.

As for my outfit in these photos I was going for a casual but sexy look. I decided to pair my new T by Alexander Wang top with these light wash boyfriend jeans topped off with some silver jewelry and my go to black wedges. Cool and comfy, is there anything better??

* I got this fab cut at Birch Salon, a new salon that just opened in Carytown!!! One of my old co-workers, Hilary, opened the salon last week and its so cute!! If you are looking for a new do' yourself this fall I definitely reccomend checking out Birch Salon!! Find out more about them on Facebook: facebook.com/birchsalonrva

Happy 23rd Birthday to Me

I wore this outfit for my birthday lunch a little over a week ago. I went to Pasture with my parents and we had a lovely lunch accompanied by a few glasses of champs. The last few birthdays I've had were pretty crappy but this one was a total success: lunch at Pasture, mimosas at the pool, Meet the Maker: Steven Alan event at Need Supply, dinner at Can Can, and drinks/dancing at Balliceaux. It was an absolutely fabulous 23rd birthday spent with my favorite people :]

Crop Top Love

My number one favorite thing to wear are jumpsuits but crop tops come in a close second. There is something so incredibly chic and sexy about a high waisted pant/skirt paired with a cute crop top. I love this striped turtleneck one from American Apparel. To tone down the edginess of the top I paired it with a high waisted purple skirt and my favorite black wedges.

How do you like to wear crop tops??

Grey & Green

I always use Sunday brunch as an opportunity to get a little dressed up even if I'm not going anywhere fancy. Any chance I get I dress up because lets be real it is way more fun to be wearing a dress and heels than jeans and a tshirt, that's how I feel at least. So last Sunday I decided to go with this flirty grey dress and add a pop of color with my green pumps. It was fun, easy and chic!!

Ps. I just had to post the picture of my dad and I below, because I mean look at him?? Could the guy be anymore stylish?!

Fourth of July

I know its a few days late but here is my 4th of July look!! I am more of a black and pink girl so I don't have much red, white and blue in my closet but I remembered I had these festive Theory pants from Clementine so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to wear them. To tone down the patterned pants I wore a neutral top and shoes.

What did you wear for the 4th?
