Like I mentioned in my
previous post, Thursday was my birthday so yesterday I had birthday brunch with my parents to wrap up my fabulous bday week. We decided to do a little something different from our usual casual brunch spots and check out
Amuse at the
Virginia Museum of Fine Art. The restaurant is beautiful, with chic modern decor and art, and looks over the VMFA's great landscape. I had stuffed french toast and enjoyed delicious Illy coffee and a "Maharini" (champagne, Limoncello, mango puree, and blackberry garnish) in honor of the museums
latest exhibit. My mother and I love ourselves a cocktail, especially ones involving champagne.
I have been dying to wear this dress and decided it would be perfect for one of my birthday outings. When I spotted it at
Need Supply Co. a few months ago I didn't know where I would wear it I just knew I had to have it, no questions asked. I love the french feel with the big bow at the neck and the sheer, uneven bottom. I also just bought these shoes from my go to spot
Clementine and am very happy I did. They are super comfortable and added the perfect bit of edge to this super feminine dress. Plus they will be great to transition some of my summer outfits to fall. I plan to "edge" up my look a little for fall so I think these shoes were a step in the right direction.
Overall it was a very nice and relaxing birthday, thanks everyone who made it special :]
