That Time I Met Rebecca Minkoff

A week or so ago I went to Saks Fifth Ave in Stony Point Fashion Park, to attend a meet and greet with fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff. Minkoff has been in the mainstream since 2005, when she designed her first handbag that she named the “Morning After Bag”. The iconic bag ignited Rebecca’s career and she has been designing luxury handbags, accessories, footwear and apparel collections ever since. I've always loved the "downtown romantic" vibe that her collections possess and am OBSESSED with her Spring 2013 collection. Another thing I have always really liked about Minkoff is that she is constantly collaborating and involving fashion bloggers in her work, most notably Leandra Medine, of The Man Repeller.

Of course I was a nervous wreck trying to figure out what to wear, so I decided to go classic me: all black and fab shoes. When I got to Saks I did a walk around the store and checked out the great shoes, bags and clothing from Minkoff's Spring 2013 collection, which included lots of pastel, bright and crisp white pieces. After I spotted where Minkoff was meeting with people and signing their pieces by her I decided to grab one of her chic phone cases and have it signed. Rebecca was just as sweet and even more beautiful in person, it was such a pleasure meeting her!!! Check out my pictures of the event below!!

Walking Through Carytown

Carytown is my favorite part of the city. I happen to live right behind Cary Street so I am lucky to have lots of great restaurants, boutiques, food stores, coffee shops and other great shops just steps away from my apartment. Whether I'm running errands or just looking for some inspiration, most days I can be found walking down the street at some point. I wore this outfit the other day to grab coffee and shop with my mom and really love the way it turned out. I've had a hard time finding the right way to wear this sweater because it is slightly cropped and very thick, but realized it looks great layered over a dress. I glammed up the look with my bedazzled Ann Taylor boots and rhinestone headband from Nordstrom.

Richmonders, where are your favorite spots in RVA??

Seeing Red

Now that March is here I am really in spring mode. My winter clothes are totally uninspiring to me at this point and  I am more than ready to pack up my coats and pull out all my sandals. It was rather mild the other day so I decided to wear a pair of cute flats instead of my boots that I have been wearing all winter. I love these Beverly Feldman leopard studded smoking slippers, they are the perfect mixture of cute and edgy. I paired them with my red jeans and this sassy black top with cutouts on the shoulders. To top off the look I added my Hello Kitty sunglasses, because every girl needs a little Hello Kitty in her life :]
