I spent this Christmas Eve in RVA with my lovely parents. First we had a little lunch at Can Can, followed by drinks and pictures at the Jefferson and finished with a traditional seafood dinner at home. It was the perfect low key holiday. I always love an excuse to dress up though so I decided to go a little glam. I wore this beautiful beaded vintage top paired with a iridescent green blazer and black trousers. It was the perfect holiday look.

Hope you all had a fabulous holiday!!

Grey Sky

Even though I absolutely despise being cold I love winter fashion way better than summer, and I especially love layering. This long grey sweater is perfect for these super chilly days we have been having but I could never figure out how to wear it because of the short sleeves. I decided to pair it with this black sheer top and it worked perfectly. I plan on layering it under everything this winter season.

Northern Grade Richmond

I wore this outfit to the Northern Grade pop up hosted by Need Supply Co. that happened at the end of September. I absolutely love menswear and was so excited when I heard about this event. It was great to see items from local favorites such as Ledbury and Shockoe Denim as well as learn more about other brands like Cadet, Billy Reid, and many more. I saw lots of shirts and coats that I almost wanted to buy for myself. I decided to go with a menswear inspired look for the event so I paired my Jbrand's with some leopard loafers and a black blouse.

Denim and Stripes

I love a good denim shirt. They look good with everything from leather pants to black jeans to a skirt. I paired mine with a black and white striped pencil skirt, navy sandals and some silver jewelry. Simple and chic, there's nothing better.

It's been said a million times but its true: every girl needs a little black dress. Since I am a huge fan of the color black I say that you need not just one but, one for every occasion. This dress is perfect because its great for work or a night out depending on how you accessorize it. I am also a huge fan of this dress because it fits me like a glove and that's a very rare thing in my world. I went with some gold accessories, blue shoes and of course a little animal print to complete this work look.

2nd Hand First Photoshoot

I wore this outfit a week ago for a photo shoot that one of my favorite blogging friends put together. Sydney is the blogger behind Chic Stripes and features all things second hand in Richmond. Her blog is fantastic and she has lots of great ideas so when she approached me to be apart of her "2nd Hand First" photo shoot I was ecstatic!! My job was to put together an outfit consisting of all second hand items. It was so fun to pull out all my 2nd hand pieces and see how many there were and how many awesome designer pieces I have scored over the years. I wanted to go with a really chic and edgy look so I paired my new Stella McCartney tee with this black pencil skirt, strappy brown sandals and gold jewelry. The shoot was held at Urban Farmhouse, in Shockoe Bottom and featured some other RVA bloggers so be on the lookout for the full shoot in the October/November issue of Grid Magazine!!
On a bit of a sad note these photos are the last time you will be seeing this purse because 2 days after this when I was walking home from work in Carytown I was mugged. I had just gone to the ATM and was talking on the phone while walking home when all of a sudden I felt my purse being pulled away from me. I chased the idiot for a block but lost him along with my purse, wallet, keys, makeup, etc. So if you live in Richmond the moral of the story is don't get too comfortable. It may feel like a tiny little town at times but this is still a city and anything can happen.
**Side note: I am totally fine, I just want people to know that this doesn't just happen in NYC, it can happen in broad daylight on a busy street anywhere so be careful and aware of your surroundings at all times people

New 'Do

I got a haircut* this past weekend and I am totally obsessed with it. Even though I loved my super long hair that I used to have I am definitely a short hair girl. I feel so much sexier and edgier with my new cut which is exactly the look I am going for with my outfits this fall.

As for my outfit in these photos I was going for a casual but sexy look. I decided to pair my new T by Alexander Wang top with these light wash boyfriend jeans topped off with some silver jewelry and my go to black wedges. Cool and comfy, is there anything better??

* I got this fab cut at Birch Salon, a new salon that just opened in Carytown!!! One of my old co-workers, Hilary, opened the salon last week and its so cute!! If you are looking for a new do' yourself this fall I definitely reccomend checking out Birch Salon!! Find out more about them on Facebook:

Happy 23rd Birthday to Me

I wore this outfit for my birthday lunch a little over a week ago. I went to Pasture with my parents and we had a lovely lunch accompanied by a few glasses of champs. The last few birthdays I've had were pretty crappy but this one was a total success: lunch at Pasture, mimosas at the pool, Meet the Maker: Steven Alan event at Need Supply, dinner at Can Can, and drinks/dancing at Balliceaux. It was an absolutely fabulous 23rd birthday spent with my favorite people :]
