Pinstripe Lime

My job doesn't really require me to dress up but I am never one to turn down the opportunity to wear a chic business casual look. When I saw these shoes at Clementine I just had to get them because they looked like shoes any powerful business woman would wear and although I'm not there yet thats the person I hope to be. Thats kind of my motto for my outfits, I dress like the person I hope to be: a chic, powerful, confident, sexy, woman with great style. This outfit definitely made me feel that way, and that's why it's one of my favorites.

What style or look do you try to achieve with your outfits??

Orange Sunset

I actually really hate wearing brown but I just love this dress. I got it years ago in Florida and only wear it once or twice every summer but I just can't part with it. I think it looks great paired with turquoise or coral, like I did in this outfit. I also wore my favorite and only pair of sandals because I hate my feet so wearing sandals isn't exactly ideal for me but these babies are just too cool. Maybe another cool pair will make me a fan again.

Brian and I met up the other day and decided to take these photos kind of spur of the moment and I just love the way they turned out. The lighting was so good and the suns orange hues match my outfit perfectly :]

Do you have any pieces in your closet that you love but rarely wear??

Tutu Girl

I love how absolutely ridiculous I look in this dress. I got it on sale for $10 and just loved how silly and girly it was but never really planned on wearing it out in public. The other day I noticed it hanging in my closet and asked my self what was really holding me back from wearing it? The fact that it makes me look 5? Was it because its so short? Or was it because lets be real, who takes anyone in a tutu seriously?? I realized it was a combination of all those points but really...WHO CARES?! Its flippin adorable and makes me feel so cute and sassy, so I will now be wearing this lots.

In the past year I have made a huge effort to stop being so concerned with what others may think about my outfits and just dress for me. Fashion and getting dressed up loses its fun side when you have too many rules and regulations, so I say to hell with the rules and concerns and just have fun, isn't that what fashion is all about?!?

Do you have any silly outfits or pieces that you love??

Pastel Accents

Yesterday was Fathers Day and I had a wonderful brunch with my parents and boyfriend at The Magpie. Since I'm an only child we never make a huge deal out of Mothers and Fathers day because my parents are my best pals and I let them know how much I love and appreciate them often, so we usually just do a relaxing brunch somewhere. I decided to dress up a little and wear this great little dress I scored at the Clementine Warehouse Sale for under $20!! I decided to add some pops of pastel with my belt and shoes and add some silver jewelry to match my shoes. I saw these pumps online and fell instantly in love. I have been dying for a pair of capped toe heels after seeing the Stuart Weitzman "Capsize" heel, so these were great because they were half the price but still in a great pastel and totally sexy. I can't wait to wear these all summer!!

How was your fathers day?? Hope you all had a great weekend as well!!

Tastebuds Dinner Date

My parents owning a restaurant is kind of the best thing ever. Whenever I need a good meal I know they will be there ready to give me one. I'm not just saying this because I'm their daughter...the food is incredible. My boyfriend and I like to go once a week if possible for a good wholesome, healthy meal. It's not a super fancy restaurant but I always like to dress up a little any time it seems appropriate. I wore this black floral dress and paired it with these mesh black heels for a slightly edgier look. I was also having a superb hair day and my top knot was on point which really pulled the look together.

Outfit Details:
Rose print dress from Up Against The Wall
Grey bandeau from American Apparel
Lace up black heels from Forever 21 (also seen here)
Thrifted Cuff

We, as usual, had an amazing meal which included a "mojitotini" for me and a blue crab nachos appetizer to start. The nachos are such a tasty treat and I look forward to when my parents put them on the menu every summer. For dinner Dave had tortilla crusted soft shell crabs, over a smoked tomato crema, avocado, grape tomato & corn salad over bibb lettuce and I had sauteed veal layered with prosciutto & goats milk brie, caramelized apricots, with hand cut Fettucini & sauteed Rapini. We ended the meal with homemade chocolate ice cream with a mint ganache on top. It was a fabulous meal. If you ever need a new restaurant to try check them out!! Website: Tastebuds American Bistro
