Neutral Leopard

Whether or not the weather says so I am ready for fall. Give me tweed, big knits, leather, fur, cashmere, etc.... I WANT IT ALL. This is a little pre-fall outfit with my new H&M leopard print skirt and fave little short sleeve turtleneck tee. A lot of people hate on turtle necks but I absolutely love them, partially because I am always cold and partially because I like to tell me self that I am secretly a very chic french girl.

What pieces are you excited to wear for fall??

Outfit Details:
Skirt and top from H&M
Shoes by JCrew from Clementine

Black Heart

Two of my obsessions: black and Jeffrey Campbell shoes. I am lusting for all these little babies this fall:

(All shoes from Nasty Gal)

I already scooped up these Jeffrey Campbell beauties from Need Supply Co. as a little birthday treat last week. They will be the prefect addition to my fall shoe collection :]

VMFA Birthday Brunch

Like I mentioned in my previous post, Thursday was my birthday so yesterday I had birthday brunch with my parents to wrap up my fabulous bday week. We decided to do a little something different from our usual casual brunch spots and check out Amuse at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art. The restaurant is beautiful, with chic modern decor and art, and looks over the VMFA's great landscape. I had stuffed french toast and enjoyed delicious Illy coffee and a "Maharini" (champagne, Limoncello, mango puree, and blackberry garnish) in honor of the museums latest exhibit. My mother and I love ourselves a cocktail, especially ones involving champagne.

I have been dying to wear this dress and decided it would be perfect for one of my birthday outings. When I spotted it at Need Supply Co. a few months ago I didn't know where I would wear it I just knew I had to have it, no questions asked. I love the french feel with the big bow at the neck and the sheer, uneven bottom. I also just bought these shoes from my go to spot Clementine and am very happy I did. They are super comfortable and added the perfect bit of edge to this super feminine dress. Plus they will be great to transition some of my summer outfits to fall. I plan to "edge" up my look a little for fall so I think these shoes were a step in the right direction.

Overall it was a very nice and relaxing birthday, thanks everyone who made it special :]

Birthday Week Fun

Yesterday was my birthday (yay 22!!) but for me birthdays are a week long event so today to continue my b-day fun my mom and I went to Stony Point Fashion Park to shop a little and grab lattes. The weather has been very mild which is so unusual for August because usually it is scorching hot, so I could actually wear something cute without worrying about sweating to death. This leopard top is one of my favorite Ashby finds and I love the way it looks tied up with high waisted skirt like this one. The top and skirt combo plus my earrings make this look a little retro, which I am very into.

My birthday week has been filled with shopping trips, lattes, cupcakes, fashion books, flowers, delicious meals and drinks, and there is still more to come this weekend!! Don't you just love birthdays?!

Outfit Details:
Leopard print top from Ashby
Black high waisted skirt from American Apparel
Metallic toe cap flats from Target
Earrings from Up Against the Wall
White watch by DKNY

White polka dot sunglasses from Urban Outfitters (also seen here and here

Summer White

As I may have mentioned before up until this summer I have been pretty anti white clothing A. because I am a super klutz and always manage to spill something on myself so white is just dangerous and B. because I am very fair skinned so I've always felt like it washed me out. Well this summer I figured it was time to grow up, pay a little more attention to my table manners, and buy some white clothing. This dress is pretty simple but looks great when paired with some pops of color. Not all trends work for everyone, but don't knock it 'til you try it :]

How do you feel about wearing white?? Love it or hate it??
